Is G-d That Poor of a Communicator?
Is G-d That Poor of a Communicator?
How is it that as Bible believing Christians we have so many issues that have kept G-d’s People divided. For the most part we read the same Bible, though the specific translation may differ the basics are quite similar. The shepherds of the flock spend countless hours in Bible study. Why then, do we come away from our studies with such varying perceptions of the message G-d conveyed through His written revelation? Is G-d that poor of a communicator?
Let’s assume it is us who are to blame for the perceived inconsistencies. In our “Bible” studies do we actually study G-d’s Word or do we focus our efforts on the countless theological discussions about what is in the Bible. It is amazing how many libraries of books have been written about the contents of just one book. Not so much the study of Scripture, but the study of doctrine, has determined how so many of us walk out our Christian experience. Through the centuries there has been a multitude of doctrinal interpretations of the Bible, enough to choke a religion.
Most doctrinal thesis produced over the past two millennia have been in response to some contemporary cultural issue or event, some have been purely political in nature, meant to control the populace. For far too long a time the common man was forbidden to so much as read the Scriptures, less he realize he was being misguided. Many a cannon was decreed so that the institution could maintain the riches, power and political influence the Church has, at times, held.
Reading through much of the writings of the early Church fathers, those theological discourses from the first several centuries that shaped the spirit and direction of what we now know to be the Church, is much like reading from Mein Kampf. In the early formative years of the Church there was a societal disdain for Jews, it was politically correct to hate anyone or anything remotely Jewish. This phenomenon still plagued our spiritual leaders in the Middle Ages during the Reformation, when the Protestant branch of the Church was birthed. The anti-Semitic tirades of the foundational fathers of our faith should give serious pause to anyone reading and studying their works. How is it that the wild branch grafted into the rich olive root could be so boastful, lambasting the root that provides the basis for the branch’s very existence?
Not only has doctrine split apart the Church, it has also separated us from our source, Ancient Judaism. The early Church fathers did a great job of driving a theological wedge between what would become two distinct groups of G-d’s People. The proceeding centuries of purposeful persecution of the Jews, all in the name of Jesus, has left the white robes of the saints badly stained and sent the Church reeling into the Dark Ages. Only in the past generation has the Congregation begun to shrug off the incorrigible indoctrination of the anti-Semitic architects of the Church.
Today many Christians are returning to old-fashioned Biblical Truths, a reclamation of the Hebraic origins of the Church. In the first century the followers of Yahoshua were considered a sect of Judaism and were known as The Way. In the tongue of the day, Aramaic, which is a form of ancient Hebrew, the name for the early Church was HaDerek. Those striving to revert back to the truest form of the early Church are looking to rediscover the identity of HaDerek. The Way (Acts 24:14) is again finding its way.
The Christian return to Biblically based doctrine has caused a reconsideration of the right relationship between the Church and the Jewish People. The enmity that has existed between the remnant of Jacob and the Church is fading into history as the Body of Messiah trends toward looking and acting more like ancient HaDerek in principle and practice. The realization that a kindred spirit does exist between Israel and the true Church has kindled a love in the heart of many Christians toward their Jewish brothers.
No longer at odds with their Jewish brothers, because of errant doctrine, a revitalized Church, free of anti-Semitism, is now beginning to fulfill the Will of The Father by being a blessing to and a support for the descendants of Jacob.
Today G-d is fulfilling His promise to regather the Remnant of Israel. This fulfillment of prophecy is being accomplished as our Jewish brothers answer the call of the Holy Spirit to return to G-d’s Land. As the Jews return the Land is being redeemed to its rightful heirs, and as promised, G-d is bringing nourishment to the Land causing their fields to prosper.
As the Jewish People are returning from around the world the nations are aligning in an effort to hinder the culmination of redemption. The Arab/Muslim nations surrounding tiny Israel have sworn an oath to destroy the Jewish Nation. Conducting a war by proxy through the so-called “palestinians” the descendants of Ishmael continue a jihad to “purify” the region by ridding it of the Zionists. Manipulating the world media the Arab countries concocted the “palestinian” myth to justify their efforts to wipe Israel off the map.
The principalities of darkness have begun an all out assault on the continuation of the redemptive process. Islam has set itself against the Hand of The L-rd of Hosts in a struggle to wrestle control of the Land of milk and Honey. The Jewish Nation is being targeted for destruction one hilltop at a time. The People of Israel have been at war with their Arab neighbors since their rebirth as a nation sixty years ago. With much suffering the Land is being redeemed and homesteads are being built.
Right now the nations are formulating a plan to dissect Israel and reward terrorist murderers with a state on Jewish soil. As partakers in the promise of The Messiah and citizens of the Kingdom of G-d the Church has an obligation to rise to the occasion to help their Jewish brothers. The reestablishment of Israel as a nation is not just a Jewish issue, it is a matter concerning the Kingdom of G-d, which includes the Disciples of HaDerek. As one brother fights to protect the other brother, so the Church should be involved in the struggle to protect Israel from Her Arab/Islamic aggressors. Our brother’s battle is our battle.
