Playing With the Peas in Our Plate
Playing With the Peas in Our Plate
The intense diplomatic activity regarding the Israeli-“palestinian” so-called “peace” process is pressing ahead full steam toward the Annapolis meeting scheduled for the end of November, conveniently on the heels of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The aim of this so-called “summit” is to carve up 95% of the Biblical Heartland, Judaea and Samaria, divide the ancient Jewish capital, Jerusalem, give full control of the Temple Mount and other holy sites to Islam, and then flood the tiny Jewish State with 4,000,000 feigned “refugees” until She drowns in the Mediterranean Sea. In spite of the obviously hostile actions and intents of Israel’s “palestinian” negotiating partner, the United States is determined to appease the oil-rich Arab-Muslim bloc with a two-state “solution” that will result in the creation of another Islamic stronghold in the Fertile Crescent region at the expense of the Jewish State – and, eventually, at the cost of world peace.
This should be a major concern for everyone who calls on the Name of the G-d of the Hebrews. There is before us a small window of opportunity in which we can prepare for what is looming on the horizon. G-dly tasks have been set before the Jewish and Christian communities. We can choose to step out and boldly take on these opportunities for righteousness’ sake or remain smugly docile within our comfort zones and pretend the storm will subside.
Allow me to share with you a conversation I will forever remember:
My husband and I were visiting a church to teach about our Hebraic roots and the Biblical Festivals. We were at a restaurant eating dinner with the church's pastor and his wife after an evening of praise and study. The conversation we had was about Israel, the “peace” process, the Jewish People, and the Prophecies that are unfolding right before our eyes.
The pastor's wife, who sat across from my husband, was playing with the peas in her plate. She was rather indifferent about the whole conversation, and surprisingly showed little compassion for our Jewish brothers and sisters, who have been enduring the brunt of the wrath of Islam.
As she was arranging and rearranging the peas within her plate, she told us matter-of-factly that she would just wait out the storm in her little town until the L-rd comes.
In effect, what she was saying was that she preferred to remain quietly within her familiar surroundings until
G-d arrives to throw her a life preserver so that she could escape the tribulation that is coming upon this earth.
In effect, what she was saying was that, in spite of Scriptures that set precedence for the Church Body to serve, pray for, and materially bless the Jewish People from whom we have inherited our Spiritual Heritage, she would just as soon remain blissfully aloof as Jewish blood is spilling in Beulah Land.
In effect, what she was saying was that she had no desire to be among the few workers in the field of Zion -- where G-d’s Attention is Focused today -- who are actively involved in advancing the Divine Process of the culmination of the Redemption.
In effect, what she was saying to her Jewish brethren is: “…Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed….” (James 2:16)
What a sad state of affairs: hemming oneself in by one’s own narrow field of vision at such a time as this.
Have we not heard that the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it (Matte’Yahu/Matthew 11:12)? Where then is G-d’s Army?
There is a fierce spiritual battle raging beneath the unseemly politicking that the world’s leaders are currently engaged in. If we but open our eyes we will find ourselves in the midst of what G-d is Doing. Prophecies are coming to fruition -- the Valley of Dry Bones is springing to life with the Divine Re-gathering of the Jewish Remnant to Her Promised Land, the desert in Eretz Yisra’el is literally abloom, and Zion is being rebuilt speedily in our days. Meanwhile, the nations are in an uproar over each mound of dirt that shifts within Israel “proper.” Their leaders are working incessantly within the halls of purportedly legitimate institutions like the United Nations, the European Union and the Vatican to posture their nations against Israel. Fatah Chief, pLO-pA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is pandering to the burgeoning Islamic terrorism within his sphere of influence while simultaneously broadcasting to the world his “peaceful” intentions toward his Jewish neighbors. Our own U.S. policymakers, in the name of oil interests and arms sales, continue to thrust the failed land-for-peace agenda upon the Jewish People.
I had a dream the night before last. I was eating a meal inside a large building by the seashore. There was a terrible storm raging and I stepped outside to further assess the situation. As my eyes looked toward my left and followed a manmade valley that stopped at a dam with a village on its opposing side, I saw the tiny town in the distance bearing under a deluge of rain. As my eyes looked toward my right, I saw the ocean’s waves crashing against a meager seawall nearby that seemed to be tempting nature. I went back inside the building to warn the others. It was as if I was talking to air. No one seemed to care. A young college student did inquire of her mother as to why I was making such a commotion. Her mother reinterpreted my warning: it was nothing at all, just some rain. The next moment we all heard a large pop. I lifted up my eyes to my left and beheld a totally destroyed village afloat in a swell of water that was pouring over the dam and causing the valley to rapidly fill -- its contents heading straight for our building. I lifted up my eyes to my right and beheld a seawall that had been breached with the ocean rushing through its gaps -- its turbulence also heading toward our building. I deduced that it would be a long time before I saw another morsel of food, and then I braced myself … not more than a second or two later I was awakened from my dream by the alarm from my clock.
The One Who Formed the eyes is Watching.
In this turbulent season where the tiny Jewish State is being bullied down the Road Map to destruction, let not one of us who calls upon the G-d of Abraham, the G-d of Isaac and the G-d of Jacob -- not one -- be guilty of playing with our peas in our plate.
The G-dly tasks are before us and the time to put our hands to the plow is yesterday.
I am appealing to every member of the Church Body to get involved at the grass-roots level now so that we can move out together as one powerful voice that declares to the U.S. policymakers, the Islamists, and the world community:
Never again! The Church shall NOT remain silent as the wicked Islamic agenda aims to snuff out the Divine Process of Zionism and establish in its place global Shariah law.
Never again! Our spiritual guides shall NOT be complacent while a non-people pandering to a non-god is actively seeking the demise of the Jewish State in its attempt to commandeer G-d’s Throne atop Mount Moriah.
Never again! Christians shall NOT turn a blind eye toward the suffering of the Apple of G-d’s Eye, the Jewish People, who are Called to stand upon the mountains of Yehuda and Shomron come what may and are in need of our genuine non-proselytizing love and support.
I admonish you to give true Thanksgiving this holiday season by rising to the occasion:
We need mobilized congregations to board buses and organize carpools to Annapolis and D.C. to rally on behalf of the Jewish State and against this farce of a peace process.
The D.C. rally will take place in front of the White House from noon to 5 p.m. on November 25. There will be a march to the Holocaust Museum to awaken our nation’s conscience regarding our collective silence in the face of this intolerant wave of Islam and its Hitler-style bloodlust for Jewish life.
The Annapolis rally will take place on November 26 and 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at Gate 1 in front of the Naval Academy on King George and Randall Street. The academy is hosting the world leaders at this time and Israel will be on the agenda for unprecedented giveaways that bode ill for Her future.
For those who genuinely cannot physically attend the rallies, there are plenty of carefully documented articles that have been coming your way recently so that you could knowledgeably educate your lawmakers and respond to inaccurate news reports regarding this sell-out. Calls must be made and letters written before the Annapolis meeting. Those who cannot join us should have their congregations pray about how they could help to offset the financial burden for the rallies. There are buses to charter, banners to make, fliers to print, kosher meals to provide, permits to secure, hotel rooms to book, security to hire – the list of expenses goes on, and not every organization or congregation has deep pockets.
As the Thanksgiving Day holiday approaches, let us leave the peas for the plate and get on our faces before the Holy One to see how He would Use us. There are many nice things that we can be involved in, but as servants of the L-rd of Hosts, Who is bringing the Redemptive Process to a climax, these are days for choosing that which is truly important.
May it be that our faith is backed by good deeds -- for faith without deeds is dead (James 2:26).
Builders of Zion is a part of a nationwide coalition of Jewish and Christian organizations mobilizing groups of the faithful to take an active stance in defending the Jewish Biblical Inheritance on behalf of The Judeo-Christian G-d of Reality.
